Relight Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 12, 2026

The short version: Relight collects no data. It talks to your Sengled Wi-Fi bulbs directly on your home Wi-Fi and nothing else. There is no Relight server, no account, no cloud and nothing sent to us.

Relight (on the App Store as "Relight for Sengled Wi-Fi") is an independent app. It is not made by or affiliated with Sengled. Sengled is a trademark of its owner.

Your local network

The only network traffic Relight makes is on your own local network: small UDP messages (port 9080) to the bulbs on your Wi-Fi, to control them. To find your bulbs, Relight sends a tiny "who's there" message to each address on your Wi-Fi network. That's why iPhone asks you to allow Local Network access. You can turn it off any time in iPhone Settings → Apps → Relight → Local Network, but Relight can't reach your lights without it.

Setting up a new or reset bulb

When you use Set up a new or reset bulb, Relight asks your iPhone to join the bulb's own open setup Wi-Fi (named like "Sengled_Wi-Fi Bulb_XXXX") for about a minute. It then sends the home Wi-Fi name and password you typed directly to the bulb so the bulb can join your network. Relight never stores that password and never sends it anywhere else.

During setup the bulb tries to "check in" with Sengled's old servers. Relight points it at your own iPhone instead, and the app answers those check-ins locally for a few minutes. Nothing leaves your network.

Your lights, scenes and settings

Your list of lights (each one's name, room, Wi-Fi address, the bulb's hardware ID (MAC address) and model), your scenes and your settings are stored on your iPhone. They are shared with Relight's own widget through the iPhone keychain. Deleting the app deletes them; your iPhone backups may include them, depending on your settings.

Siri and Shortcuts

Relight's Siri and Shortcuts actions run on your iPhone and talk to the lights on your Wi-Fi, the same way the app does. Nothing passes through us.

Purchases

The optional one-time "Relight Pro" purchase is processed by Apple. Relight only learns whether your Apple Account (or your Family Sharing group) owns Pro; it never sees your payment details, name, address or Apple ID.

Ratings

Now and then the app may show Apple's standard "rate this app" prompt. Apple handles it; we receive no personal data from it.

What Relight doesn't do

Children

Relight is rated 4+ but is not specifically designed for children. We collect no data, so there's nothing to handle differently for users under 13.

Changes

If this policy materially changes, the date at the top of the page will update and we'll note it in the app's What's New on the next release.
